When Glendale Pizza first opened in 1965, it was one of the first italian restaurants in the area. At this time, Ridgewood and Glendale had a prominent German population. Sure enough, the large population of Germans kindly fully accepted Glendale Pizza and thus, made the family business thrive.

Prior to the grand opening of Glendale Pizza, the community had a very limited number of local restaurants in which they could really enjoy warm, delicious food, in a cozy, homelike atmosphere.
